The adult choir of Bethlehem Christian Church
is made up of approximately thirty individuals, ranging in age from
teens to senior citizens, whose main purpose is to praise our Lord
through song and instrument. A wide variety of music is
performed in four-part harmony, including hymns, anthems, Christian
contemporary songs, and old-time gospel tunes. The choir is usually
accompanied by both an organist and a pianist, and sometimes by a
flutist or guitarist.
The choir takes part in each Sunday’s 11:00 AM service in
addition to providing special music at revival, Easter, and Christmas
services. They also enjoy Christmas caroling to the elderly, shut-ins,
and hospital patients and staff, and singing semiannually at the
Burlington fire department and quarterly at nursing homes.
There are only two requirements to become a member of the Bethlehem
Christian Church adult choir: (1) you must love to sing from your heart
for our Lord, and (2) you must be willing to practice. The choir meets
each Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. for rehearsal.
"The Bethlehem Choir is a very special group of talented individuals,
and to stand before them each Sunday morning and look at their faces as
they sing for the glory of God is a rare privilege. There is no
question that the music comes directly from their hearts. I am so
thankful that God has given me the opportunity to work with such a
loving and supportive choir." – Rhonda Huffman, Choir Director
