Matthew Peele is the twenty-first permanently called pastor at Bethlehem. He is from Carthage, NC, received his Master of Divinity from Campbell University in 2023 and, before that, Bachelor of Arts degrees in Religious Studies and Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Pastor Peele writes "I felt God's call on my life when I was in college, and it is that calling that has brought me here. I am deeply committed to the growth of the church not just in terms of numbers, but also in the growing and deepening faith of the people that choose to call this church home. I want members of the church to feel like they have the knowledge and the faith to speak openly about their Christian beliefs with anyone who asks, and I want them to walk in their faith in such a way that it leads people to ask. I believe that the church was a body ordained by God to be a primary way His work is done in the world. I am grateful to be called into this ministry and I invite anyone who is interested to join us in being a part of what God is doing at Bethlehem Christian Church."
